A Runaway Angel:

Before Ravenblack City

Eden knows nothing of her birth family. All she knows of them is that they left her on the steps of a church right after she was born, with a note stating the name they gave her and that they were too young and not ready to care for a child. She was then taken to Child Services and put into the system and grew up being shuffled from foster home to foster home.

Very few of the foster families were good to the girl. The majority of them were cruel and hurtful to her; abusive physically and mentally. Aside from the abuse she suffered she was raised to be very sheltered. She was either homeschooled or placed in all-girls schools and never allowed to interact with any males besides her foster fathers. Even then most of them wanted nothing to do with her. She was taught that anything regarding sex or the exploration of ones body was wrong and, after being punished only once, never gave it another thought. It might as well not even have existed to her at all.

It was in the summer after she turned 16 that she finally had enough of the abusive and shady homes she was placed in, and the fact that none of her workers ever believed her. But the three scars stretching down her back are a part of the reason why. The last home she was in was the worst of all. She had been planning to leave before anything serious had even happened. When her foster father found out what she was planning to do, he decided to take things into his own hands instead of contacting her worker. Of course, he was also drunk at the time.

He beat the girl with his belt and then tied her up in the basement and called over some of his friends to help him. They wanted to torture her first and had planned to rape her, steal her innocence, when they were done cutting her up. Fortunately, someone heard Eden’s screams and called the cops before they could do anything else to her. But they had already sliced open her back and left her face and chest bruised and bloody and she had bruises all over the rest of her body.

The girl didn't even give the paramedics a chance to look at her when she grabbed some of her stuff and ran. Eden couldn't stay; she knew they would do worse when they were released. Obviously nobody ever found her. They all thought she had died and didn't bother looking.

Just over two years later, after somehow surviving on her own as a wandering homeless girl, did she manage to find herself in Ravenblack City.

Innocence In the Midst of Sin:

Eden in Ravenblack

The girl wasn’t sure how she made it to Ravenblack. She hadn’t remembered wandering into the City; only waking up there one warm August morning with no memory from the night before. She had wandered around for some time and tried to figure out where she was before finally being told by someone the name of the City; it was one she’d never heard of before. She wasn’t even aware of what the occupants of the City were until after she had stumbled upon the Tavern and discovered that she was surrounded by Vampires and other supernatural beings. It was scary for the small human girl but she found herself interested in staying.

It took her nearly a week or so of visiting the Tavern before a few people began to take notice of the quiet, shy girl with no friends and introduced themselves to her. Azerri and Helix were two of her very first friends in the City. Azerri was actually the one that first introduced her to Trace – who had, upon discovering the girl had nowhere to go or stay, offered to let her crash at his apartment. He then began teaching her about the ways of the City and instructing her and guiding her with questing for powers. It wasn’t very long after that when Trace made the decision to take on a very happy and excited Eden as his first childe. However, they had decided beforehand not to turn her until the day she was ready to leave her human life behind – if ever.

Eden is eternally grateful to Azerri for introducing her to Trace. And the girl owes a lot to Trace, even if he disagrees with her, and she loves him beyond measure. Thanks to him she has learned about love, compassion, caring, and family - among many other things. He took her in when she had no one and nowhere to go; even when he didn’t have to. She doesn’t know what she would do without him and is afraid to think of where she might be had he not decided to invite her to stay that night.

A Very Merry Christmas:

Eden & Trace's First Christmas - 2012

When Rile suddenly severed from Trace without warning or reason, Trace decided soon after that that he wanted to pursue a long sought after BDSM based relationship with Eden. There had been a lot of sexual tension between the two for some time and during one of the times that she had ‘run away’ the girl discovered a BDSM club near the outskirts of the City, which sparked a flame of interest within her. Knowing of Eden’s new interest and finding that she was most certainly submissive, as well as knowing her other feelings toward him, it drew Trace to her that much more and he soon desired to collar her.

What stood in the way of this becoming a reality for quite a while were many of his other feelings and his on-and-off relationship with Rile. But when Rile severed him and made it clear that they were done, Trace realized that he now had the opportunity to finally officially collar Eden. So as Eden’s main Christmas present he gifted her with a beautifully crafted collar, inscribed with her petname ‘Kitten’ and adorned with a small bell. It had a paired ring for him to wear which was inscribed with a capital ‘M’ to signify him as her Master. Eden was officially collared for Christmas and became the extremely ecstatic and proud submissive of Trace. It was the best surprise and best gift she’d ever gotten. It made her first great Christmas (ever) and her first Christmas with Trace that much better.

The New Year, A New 'Life':

Eden is Turned & Then Flees Ravenblack
Eden was panicked and frantic. Pale, weak, full of fear, and more fragile than ever – just like the once-broken and glued together porcelain doll that looked just like her. She was mysteriously near death and had only a few scant minutes left to live when she finally arrived to the apartment on her exhausting run from the hospital, where she had been staying the week before, which drained her of energy she didn’t have to spare.

She went to the only person she knew she could turn to that would save her life, even as painful as taking her human one would be; her only Love and Master:

Trace.

In her fearful and panicked state and being so close to death, there was no way that any answers would come from the girl for the questions Trace asked her. She demanded for him to turn her to save her life to which he, sadly, complied. Trace drained his precious girl until she had nothing left to give, though she hadn’t much to begin with and it was gone very quickly. He then tore open his wrist to give her his blood and waited for several long, agonizing minutes before she was brought into her new ‘life’. He did all he could to make her comfortable, soothe her, and talk her through the Turn as she endured the blinding pain as the Change swept through her small frame.

Once the pain ebbed away it left behind a thirst and a gnawing, furious hunger in Eden. Trace helped her lips meet his neck and she swiftly began drinking from him, greedily taking what he offered until he finally had to rip her fangs from his neck and tell her that she could have no more. With the return of strength and that hunger that had barely been scratched at, and with Trace too weak to give any more blood, Eden then quickly fled his apartment and went about a hunt until she was sated.

However, she did not return to Trace when she was done feeding. She knew that he would want his questions answered and that more questions would follow. She didn’t know what to tell him and knew she couldn’t answer all of the inquiries that would be waiting.

That night is when she decided that she was going to gather her most important things and pack her bags; take her wolves with her and flee the City for a while. There was just no way that she could take the chance of coming face to face with her Maker knowing that she could give him no answers or explanations, much less any other person that would ask about the circumstances of her Turning. She needed a little bit of time.

The only thing she left to speak of her mysterious departure was a note in her apartment, laid beneath what had been a perfect red rose.

Unfortunately for the newly Turned girl, Trace then severed her as his childe shortly after her mysterious and abrupt departure. That was the final nail, painfully driven home. It sealed her decision not to return to the City for a long time and stay as far away as possible.

With all of the drastic and quick changes that have taken place in such a short amount of time, it’s been very overwhelming for Eden. She has pushed herself into doing a lot of traveling and staying on the move, reverting back to her Nomadic ways of her human life before the City and before Trace.

In a strong effort not to stay alone with her thoughts and memories, or stay in one place for too long, she has taken to losing herself in each feeding - which happens several times a night at the very least - and picking up and moving on to her next, and typically unknown, destination within a matter of days; going wherever her feet and her stock of scrolls will take her.

For the first ten days she completely ignored any attempt at contact from other people.

Phone calls, texts, emails, and telepathic messages all went ignored. She whole-heartedly refused to turn to anyone to seek comfort or solace, or even guidance. She didn't wish to speak to anyone for any reason, especially about the severance, and wanted very few reminders of the City. However, she did finally cave in as her need for some type of communication set in and has spoken to a select few people – one of which has visited her. It was refreshing for the girl to be around someone else that wasn’t human – thus potential food – and knew that she was no longer human herself. And even though he reminded her of the City he helped her to enjoy an evening with much needed company.

In order to keep money in her pockets and fund her sporadic traveling Eden has taken to looting the pockets of her victims – whether they are alive or dead, selling handmade trinkets and jewelry, and has even done a few modeling shoots.

One shoot was for an Italian automaker’s company for ads to show off their brand new sports car. The few other shoots were taken because she was offered a great deal of money simply to open up and show her raw emotions for the photographer. But modeling seems to have become a new interest for her and is something she finds herself being drawn to pursue further.

However, for now she is continuing along her Nomadic and never set-in-stone path, any future plans being completely non-existent, until she feels that it’s the right time to return to the City.

Whenever that may be…

Love From a Distance:

Valentine's Day 2013

Eden had been fighting the temptation to call out to Trace with every nightmare she had each night. She fought not to speak his name for any reason, but especially to call on him – if only to see him once. It had only been two weeks since she’d left the City but it felt like much, much longer. It made it even harder being that she was lonely and Valentine’s Day did nothing to assuage that gnawing feeling of being so alone and without anyone, other than the wolves, to share the day with.

If anything, it made her long to call out to him that much more.

But his name was frozen on her lips. She couldn’t even force herself to speak it. Not even a tiny, breathless whisper could pass her lips carrying his name. Even alone in the dark, halfway across the world from him, she couldn’t push that single word from her throat. Only her heart would speak his name.

However, she managed to track someone down that could deliver her hand picked rose, with a small handwritten note tied to the stem, and a tiny box to Trace’s apartment. She didn’t want to get anywhere near the City, much less be inside the City. Even for something as personal as leaving the single red rose and small box at his door.

So her delivery person was scrolled to the bottom of the stairs leading up to Trace’s apartment door. The young girl made her way up the stairs slowly, carefully holding the gifts in her hands as she went, and then stared at the door for a long fifteen seconds. Seeming only slightly nervous, she set the things down on the landing in a place that they wouldn’t be trampled but would be noticed, knocked quickly on the door just in case, and then bolted down the stairs. It didn’t take her long before she had successfully scrolled herself back to Eden to let her know the things had been safely delivered.

The small note Eden had written in that unmistakable scrawl, when opened, read simply:

Happy Valentine’s Day

PS – I love you.

Inside the small box was a handmade keychain she’d made for him. It was just about six inches long and decorated with black, silver, and crimson glass beads in the spirit of the day. At the very end of it hung a small clear crystal heart, with intentional red spiderweb cracks inside of it to give it a hint of color. There was also a small drop of blood on the heart, gone unnoticed by her, where she had accidentally pricked her finger with some of the wire she’d used to secure it to the end of the keychain.

These things, she swore to herself, would be the only contact she would allow herself to have with him. They were small gestures and small things; they were nothing spectacular and she wasn’t even sure that he would care for them. But it meant something to her to do even such a small thing. It was her way of telling him that she still held him dearly in her heart and was still thinking about him.

She would always love Trace. That would never change…
